Ex-Horn Jordan Spieth on a Real Roll, But He Yearns for More

Jordan Spieth is the new cover boy for Golf Digest.

He ranks 12th in the world, eighth in the FedEx Cup standings.

He’s missed just two cuts this entire PGA Tour season and has seven top-10 finishes.

He just became an automatic selection to next month’s U.S. Ryder Cup team.

All that’s well and good, but the next big deal before Rory McIlroy became the next big deal prefers to focus on some of his failures because they drive him to success.

“I very rarely look back,” Spieth said.

Unless it’s something that will make the rising star in professional golf even better. And the 21-year-old Spieth is all about getting better.

After all, a season after becoming the youngest golfer to win a PGA event in 82 years when he took the John Deere Classic, Spieth has yet to win a tournament this year.

But, he reminded on Tuesday at the University of Texas Golf Club during a pause in the American Junior Golf Association event that carries his name, “I’ve got a lot of tournaments to go this year.”
