2016 Hero World Challenge

Jordan Rides Momentum Into Hero World Challenge

This island paradise has long been a coveted destination for rest and relaxation with its abundant sunshine and natural beauty, swaying palm trees, soothing beaches and multiple sporting activities at the ready.

Jordan Spieth loves it here.

“It’s hard to beat this place,” Spieth said.

But don’t expect him to just kick up his feet and take it easy as his stay this week includes playing in the Hero World Challenge at Albany Golf Club.

Instead, expect him to buckle down with golf club in hand.

“We certainly take this tournament seriously, and as hard as it may be being down here to try and work your butt off, that's something that we want to do this week every year because we know what it can do for us,” Spieth said Wednesday following his pro-am round under sun.

What the event can do is provide a springboard into the following year for the world No. 5, who, at times this year, has been frustrated by his output. No more so than in the Masters, when he took a 5-shot lead into the final nine holes but dumped two balls into the water on the 12th and finished second.

So Spieth isn’t approaching the Hero as just a four-day stroll in wonderland.
