When Jordan Spieth teed off in the opening round of the Singapore Open (Wednesday night here on the east coast) he did so without caddie Michael Greller on the bag. Greller didn’t even make the trip to Singapore after apparently suffering an injury to his left ankle.
Thanks for concern, nothing major w ankle. Gotta be 100% for pebble, cuz @jakeowen gonna need lots of extra help! #fore

Filling in for Greller was Spieth’s agent, Jay Danzi, who played college golf at Dartmouth and also was on the bag for Speith at the 2014 Dunlop Phoenix, where Spieth finished second.
“I thought Jay stepped in extremely well,” said Spieth, who shot 67 and is one off the lead after his round. “It's a tough place to caddie when you are not used to carrying the bag, with the weather, but he took it like a champ.”
