About Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth’s ascent in golf has been a linear one, a straight line from junior golf dominance to joining the elite in professional golf, working to construct an impressive record of achievement on and off the course.

Jordan Spieth’s journey in golf has been marked by hard work, dedication, and meaningful moments — from early junior success to major championship victories and continued efforts to give back. With the support of his family, coaches, and teammates, Spieth has built an excellent career grounded in gratitude and perspective, both on and off the course.

A Dallas, Texas native, Jordan first drew national attention at age 16 when he finished T16 at the 2010 HP Byron Nelson Championship as an amateur. Three years later, he turned professional during his sophomore year at the University of Texas, where he was named Big 12 Player of the Year and helped lead the Longhorns to the 2012 NCAA Team Championship.

His first season on the PGA TOUR in 2013 brought special memories, including a win at the John Deere Classic, where he became the youngest TOUR winner in over 80 years. That same year, he was honored with a Captain’s Pick for the Presidents Cup and named PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year — moments he credits to the team around him and the opportunity to represent his country.

In 2015, at 21 years old, Jordan experienced a season he’ll never forget. He won five times, including the Masters and U.S. Open, finished T4 at The Open, was runner-up at the PGA Championship, and capped the year with a victory at the TOUR Championship to win the FedExCup. He became the second-youngest Masters champion and was proud to be part of the group of players to win the first two legs of the modern Grand Slam in the same year.

In 2017, he added The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale — a moment made even more meaningful by the support of family, fans, and his team.

Over the course of his career, Jordan has been fortunate to win 13 PGA TOUR titles and 15 global events. He’s represented the United States in multiple Ryder Cups and Presidents Cups — experiences he considers among the most meaningful of his career.

His professional path was built on a strong amateur foundation. Jordan is one of only two players to win the U.S. Junior Amateur twice, alongside Tiger Woods. He was the top-ranked AJGA player in 2011, represented the U.S. on the Walker Cup team, and reached No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking before turning pro.

Off the course, Jordan’s most fulfilling work continues through the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, inspired by his younger sister Ellie, who has special needs. The Foundation supports four key areas: individuals with special needs, junior golf, military families and veterans, and pediatric cancer. Since founding it alongside his parents Chris and Shawn in 2014, the Foundation has granted over $10 million to nonprofits doing important work in these spaces. In 2024, Jordan and his wife Annie made the Foundation’s largest contribution to date — a $500,000 gift to support AML research at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Jordan has often said this work is what he hopes will define his legacy most.
